Originally designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1965, Hallingdal 65 is an exceptionally durable upholstery fabric that features a harmonious blend of wool and viscose, both dyed before spinning to accentuate their texture. The wool contributes superior durability and flexibility, while the viscose enhances the colour with brilliance and depth.
I was pleasantly surprised by how soft this wool-viscose blend feels for such a heavy-duty upholstery. The pre-dyed fibers really give it a rich, consistent color that holds up well.
The color depth on this fabric is stunning, with the dyed yarns giving it a rich, woven texture that feels substantial. It's been on my armchair for a month now and shows no signs of wear, even with daily use from my cat.
I’ve had a furniture piece reupholstered with this fabric and the texture is both sturdy and surprisingly soft to the touch. The pre-dyed wool and viscose blend maintains its deep color even in direct sunlight, which was a nice surprise.
