Originally designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1965, Hallingdal 65 is an exceptionally durable upholstery fabric that features a harmonious blend of wool and viscose, both dyed before spinning to accentuate their texture. The wool contributes superior durability and flexibility, while the viscose enhances the colour with brilliance and depth.
The wool-viscose blend gives it a really nice textured feel, and the pattern is subtle enough to work with almost any furniture. It’s held up perfectly so far with daily use from my kids and pets, which is exactly what I needed.
The color depth from the pre-dyed fibers is incredible—it shifts subtly depending on the light. After upholstering a frequently used armchair, the fabric already shows no signs of wear, which gives me real confidence in its durability.
I wasn't sure how a wool-viscose blend would feel, but it's surprisingly soft and the weave feels incredibly sturdy. The pre-dyed fibers give it a rich, nuanced color that changes slightly in different light.
