Originally designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1965, Hallingdal 65 is an exceptionally durable upholstery fabric that features a harmonious blend of wool and viscose, both dyed before spinning to accentuate their texture. The wool contributes superior durability and flexibility, while the viscose enhances the colour with brilliance and depth.
The wool-viscose blend gives this fabric a beautiful textured depth that feels both sturdy and soft. I chose it for my armchair and the color is even richer in person than online.
I’ve been using this fabric for a reupholstery project, and the wool-viscose blend has held up beautifully to daily wear without pilling. The subtle texture from the dyed fibers adds a nice depth that looks even better in person.
The pre-dyed fibers give this fabric a depth of color that shifts beautifully in different light, and it’s already proven sturdy against my cat’s claws. A solid choice for a busy sofa.
