펭귄 록킹 의자는 1950~1960년대 미국 모더니즘에 기반을 둔 디자인입니다. 오크 또는 월넛 베니어로 제작된 곡선형 등받이와 원단 또는 가죽으로 덮인 시트가 강철 프레임과 어우러져 개방적인 구조를 자랑하며, 집 안에서 예술 작품처럼 전시할 정도로 아름답습니다. 대비를 이루면서도 유쾌하며, 균형 잡힌 비례와 완성된 형태를 갖춘 이 의자는 가구 디자이너 Ib Kofod-Larsen이 1953년에 디자인한 작품으로, 덴마크 문화 유산이자 디자인 역사의 한 조각입니다. 아름다운 실루엣과 조각적이고 유기적인 선과 곡선 덕분에 지금 그 어느 때보다 모던하게 느껴질지도 모릅니다.
